In 2016, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 4.0% compared to 2015, reaching 15.5%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.5%.
Belgium ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.3% (from 15.3% in 2011).
