At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 3.9% compared to 2022, reaching 12.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 15.4%.

Belgium ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 21.8% (from 15.6% in 2018).
