In 1998, Finland's nights spent at tourist accommodation establishments increased by 2.7% compared to 1997, reaching 15,327,177.

Finland ranks 18th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 21.0% (from 12,666,181 in 1993).
