At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 0.5% compared to 2022, reaching 18.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Germany ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.1% (from 18.2% in 2018).
