In 2014, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 6.0% compared to 2013, reaching 15.9%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.8%.
Germany ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.2% (from 14.7% in 2009).
