Main indicators - share of renewable energy

In 2009, Germany's main indicators increased by 15.7% compared to 2008, reaching 17.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 20.7%.

Germany ranks 13th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 85.7% (from 9.4% in 2004).
