In 2011, Hungary's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 16.7% compared to 2010, reaching 23.7%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 21.1%.
Hungary ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.4% (from 24.8% in 2006).
