In 2010, Lithuania's impact of social transfers (excluding pensions) on poverty reduction by sex and NUTS 2 region increased by 18.9% compared to 2009, reaching 34.5.

Lithuania ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 60.8% (from 21.5 in 2005).
