In 2020, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.2% compared to 2019, reaching 16.9%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.7%.
Malta ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.8% (from 16.6% in 2015).
