At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 3.8% compared to 2020, reaching 22.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Romania ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 11.1% (from 25.3% in 2016).
