In 2021, Romania's at-risk-of poverty rate by most frequent activity status increased by 4.0% compared to 2020, reaching 15.5.

Romania accounts for 174.2% of the EU-27 total of 8.90.

Romania ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 18.0% (from 18.9 in 2016).
