In 2014, Slovakia's prison population (total) increased by 2.7% compared to 2013, reaching 10,020.

Slovakia ranks 12th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 7.6% (from 9,316 in 2009).
