The project is focused on the implementation of excellent research for CO2 capture from combustion processes using biomass, so-called Bio-CCS, or the use of captured CO2, called Bio-CCU. Research will focus on oxyfuel combustion of various types of biofuels in fluid layer and the entire technological chain associated with it, including oxygen production. Another research direction is the oxy gasification of biomass and in the third direction are the technologies of CO2 capture for the production of liquid fuels. a.

About the Research, technological development and innovation objective

Thematic Objective 1 of the 2014–2020 Cohesion period funds research, technological development and innovation. It supports R&D infrastructure, technology transfer, business-academia partnerships and pilot lines that close the gap between scientific discovery and market application across EU regions.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €9.5M toward a total project cost of €13.0M — a co-funding rate of 73%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
