Copernicus Satellite Data on Cultural Heritage
The NAVIGATOR research proposal aims to create a local and regional centre of excellence oriented towards the management of remote sensing data for the needs of Cultural Heritage through the European space programme Copernicus. Copernicus is the European project for Earth observation and monitoring, and consists of a complex set of systems that collect data from multiple sources, such as Earth observation satellites (e.g. Sentinels) and ground sensors (e.g. ground stations, air and sea sensors). About the Research, technological development and innovation objective
Thematic Objective 1 of the 2014–2020 Cohesion period funds research, technological development and innovation. It supports R&D infrastructure, technology transfer, business-academia partnerships and pilot lines that close the gap between scientific discovery and market application across EU regions.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €213k toward a total project cost of €250k — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
Kohesio is the European Commission's open-data platform for projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund Plus, the Cohesion Fund and the Just Transition Fund. It draws on lists of beneficiaries published by national managing authorities and harmonises them into a single EU-wide view.
