The project “SMARTER – Supporting the Entrepreneurial Environment in Romania through Regional Economic Tactics” has the general objective of increasing the employment rate in the non-agricultural fields in the North-East Development Region, by running a program to support entrepreneurial initiatives in which 384 people from the 6 component counties will participate in improving entrepreneurial skills, 47 people will benefit from funding in the implementation of business plans and mentoring in the run-up to their establishment, thus creating a minimum of 94 new jobs. About the Sustainable and quality employment objective

Thematic Objective 8 supports sustainable and quality employment — youth-employment initiatives, active labour-market policies, self-employment incentives, modernisation of public-employment services.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.9M toward a total project cost of €2.2M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
