The project ‘Improving the water-communal infrastructure of the Rijeka agglomeration’ will bring the Rijeka agglomeration into line with the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) and the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) in order to achieve and preserve good water status in order to protect human life and health and to protect aquatic and water-dependent ecosystems. Co-funding: the EU contributes €185.7M toward a total project cost of €265.3M — a co-funding rate of 70%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
