ONCOTRACK OncoTrack - Methods for systematic next generation oncology biomarker development

Coordinator: Bayer Pharma AG (DE)

We propose here an exhaustive analysis of the genome, exome, methylome and transcriptome of primary tumours and metastases from patients with colon carcinoma, based on a combination of deep sequencing and chip based techniques. Dependent on their availability, we shall also perform analyses of tumor stem cells, circulating tumor cells, free tumor DNA in serum and xenografts derived from the same patients. This will be complemented by the development and application of highly sensitive techniques to identify individual mutations, transcripts and proteins/protein complexes both in-situ in patho…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €16.8M toward a total project budget of €31.1M — a funding rate of 54%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 6 years from 2011-01-01 to 2016-12-31.
