ECOGENE Unlocking the European Union convergence region potential in genetics

Coordinator: EESTI BIOKESKUS (EE)

Arising from the outlined conceptual principles, objectives of the proposal are formulated primarily in order to improve the quality of our research capacity, in particular as far as participation of EBC in FP7 is concerned, but also wider, keeping in mind specific needs as well as possibilities related to the present-day Estonian R&D policy in its socio-economic context. About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €1.1M toward a total project budget of €1.2M — a funding rate of 89%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 3 years from 2008-02-01 to 2011-01-31.
