I-PROTECT Intelligent PPE system for personnel in high risk and complex environments

The main objective of the 4-year project is to develop intelligent personal protective equipment (PPE) system that will ensure active protection and information support for personnel in high risk and complex environments, in particular chemical rescue teams, firefighters and mine rescuers, who are exposed to fire, explosions, high temperature, dangerous substances, limited visibility, high humidity and limitation of breathable air. About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €2.7M toward a total project budget of €3.6M — a funding rate of 76%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 4 years from 2009-10-01 to 2013-09-30.
