DS-LOWDIM Dynamical Systems in Low Dimensions

Coordinator: UNIVERZITA MATEJA BELA V BANSKEJ BYSTRICI (SK)

We study dynamical systems on metric spaces (non-compact, in general) given by a continuous action of the (semi-)groups of N, Z and R. The problems considered can be roughly divided into two big topics: minimality and dynamical zeta functions.Minimality.Besides proving several basic results in a very general settings we focus on homeomorphisms on (non-compact) surfaces of finite type and three-dimensional flows. In the first case we study existence of minimal systems and sets on given spaces; topological structure of minimal sets; embeddings of Cantor-like and Denjoy-like minimal systems and …

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

EU contribution: €45k awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 3 years from 2009-04-15 to 2012-04-14.
