The overall objective of “ShERACA” (an Arabic word meaning “Partnership”) is to enhance the participation and involvement of Egyptian R&D stakeholders and key players in the various ERA activities. Such an objective will be carried out in synergy with the regional and bilateral actions currently running; namely the Mediterranean Innovation and Research Coordination Action (MIRA-FP7 project) and the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Programme. About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €500k toward a total project budget of €576k — a funding rate of 87%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 3.5 years from 2009-12-01 to 2013-05-31.
