LEARN 2 HEAR & SEE Perceptual, Contextual, and Cross-modal Learning in Hearing and Vision

Coordinator: UNIVERZITA PAVLA JOZEFA SAFARIKA V KOSICIACH (SK)

Humans and other living organisms are constantly exposed to new stimuli and environments. In order to correctly respond in such situations, they must recalibrate their perceptual processing in new environments and learn to recognize new stimuli and situations. The current project proposes to use behavioral experiments, brain imaging, and computational modeling to study the processes of learning and calibration in 1) auditory distance perception in human listeners and 2) visual spatial perception. A series of behavioral experiments will study 1) how human listeners recalibrate their auditory p…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €151k toward a total project budget of €162k — a funding rate of 93%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 3.5 years from 2010-05-01 to 2013-10-31.
