Coordinator: DKE AEROSPACE LUX SARL (LU)
The objective of this proposed project is to develop a commercial, secure, vulnerable person tracking service based on EGNOS. A vulnerable person is a person whose unexpected absence creates high level of concern and anxiety at the side of their close relatives and caretakers, as they may not be able to find their way back home and as they may become easy victims of accidents or crime. The proposed service belongs to the category of social location based services.
About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €362k toward a total project budget of €517k — a funding rate of 70%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 1.5 years from 2010-01-04 to 2011-07-03.
