CERES Cereal Excess as a Renewable Energy Resource

The present proposal aims at the development of a retrofit-able straw burner with integral scrubber, powered by straw pellets, for use in grain drying. The proposed technology will address EU legislation regarding the use of biomass in heating, emissions of harmful gases, transport emissions, and the common agricultural policy (CAP), as well as the development of a knowledge based economy in line with the Lisbon strategy, and the securing of jobs within the EU agricultural sector. About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
