The range of the 7th Framework Programme’s (FP7) Science in Society (SiS) programme as well as the range of its stakeholders is extremely diverse. This demands that the SiS National Contact Points (NCPs) are able to orientate in the wide area of SiS topics and research areas as well as FP7 rules and regulations in order to be able to fulfil their job.The cooperation among NCPs in FP7 and the cooperation networks that they have established is one of the most important aspects in order for their scope to be successful. About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
