TARKINAID Targeting Src-family tyrosine kinases in chronic autoimmune and inflammatory diseases

Coordinator: SEMMELWEIS EGYETEM (HU)

The project aims to develop novel inhibitors of chronic autoimmune and inflammatory diseases by targeting members of the Src tyrosine kinase family. Src-family kinases have recently emerged as major therapeutic targets in malignant diseases but their suitability as potential targets of inflammatory diseases has not yet recieved widespread acceptance. On the other hand, members of the applicant consortium have recently obtained genetic evidence showing that myeloid Src-family kinases (Hck, Fgr and Lyn) are indispensable for murine models of autoimmune inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid a…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €3.0M toward a total project budget of €3.9M — a funding rate of 77%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 4 years from 2012-01-01 to 2015-12-31.
