Gearless generators are of increasing interest and turbine system manufacturers are looking into gearless energy systems projecting onto 2015. Gear operates on mechanical engagement and friction which implies loss of energy and mechanical damage on parts in long term. About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research.
