SUNGREEN Strengthening University of Nova Gorica Research Potential in Environmental Sciences and Novel Nanomaterials

Coordinator: UNIVERZA V NOVI GORICI (SI)

The SUNGREEN project seeks to reinforce the University of Nova Gorica, strengthening its innovative approach for research and development of new knowledge in environmental science and novel nano-structured materials. The reinforcement will be realized through establishment of strategic partnerships with top European R&D centres, recruitment of experienced researchers, acquisition of state-of-the-art research infrastructure, enhancement of UNG visibility and its collaboration with different stakeholders in the region. Through the implementation of the project, UNG will reach its full potential…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

EU contribution: €3.9M awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 4.3 years from 2011-10-01 to 2016-01-31.
