NanoBacterphageSERS Design of Novel Portable-Sensors Based on Suspension Arrays Composed of Monoclonal Antibody andBacteriophage Carrying Magnetically Loaded Nanoparticles and Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

Coordinator: HACETTEPE UNIVERSITESI (TR)

In this project, we aim to develop nanotechnology-based systems for detection of pathogenic bacteria in several aqueous media mainly in environmental water based on suspension arrays together with a portable custom-designed detection system. The six objectives (six work packages) are as follows: (i) Nanostructured sensors surfaces, in which electron-beam, photo-, soft and dip-pen lithographies will be applied in the fabrication of functionalized low-cost (disposable) SERS substrates, specially designed for simultaneus Raman and Fluorescence enhancement; (ii) nanosorbents and their mixtures as…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

EU contribution: €1.6M awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 4 years from 2011-11-01 to 2015-10-31.
