ALLOXIDEPV Novel Composite Oxides by Combinatorial Material Synthesis for Next Generation All-Oxide-Photovoltaics
Coordinator: BAR ILAN UNIVERSITY (IL)
The global market for photovoltaic (PV) cells that are converting sunlight into electricity almost doubled in 2010 to reach a massive 18.2 GW, nearly three times size of the market back in 2008. Crystalline silicon is the most common PV material today with a market share of more than 80%. New developments such as electrolyte based dye-sensitized solar cells as well as organic polymer cells have experienced remarkable progress in the laboratory but penetration into the market is still far away due to stability and sealing problems. Thus, this project will develop all-oxide photovoltaic cells b…
About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €3.0M toward a total project budget of €3.9M — a funding rate of 77%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 3 years from 2012-11-01 to 2015-10-31.
