BRAINSAFE II Development of a Novel Autonomous Non-Invasive Absolute Intracranial Pressure Measurement Device Based on Ultrasound Doppler Technology

Coordinator: UAB Vittamed (LT)

The BrainSafe II project builds upon a successful Research for the Benefit of SMEs project and will deliver an innovative technology for the autonomous, calibration free, non-invasive, rapid, accurate and precise absolute intracranial pressure (aICP) determination. The resultant device will exhibit absolute intracranial pressure measurement to within SD = ± 2,5 mmHg. The target time for the whole procedure is 9 minutes (compared with a current average 23 minutes). The device resulting from this research will be a very significant breakthrough in healthcare delivery. The timely application of …

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

EU contribution: €1.3M awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 2 years from 2012-09-01 to 2014-08-31.
