SOLGAIN Competitive stationary low concentrating solar module of novel design

Coordinator: UAB MODERNIOS E-TECHNOLOGIJOS (LT)

The achievement of the goals of the European energy and climate change policy necessitates the development and deployment of a diverse portfolio of low carbon energy technologies. In 2010, photovoltaic (PV) technology was the leading renewable energy technology in terms of capacity growth in Europe. But for reaching the main sectorial target: “up to 15% of the EU electricity will be generated by solar energy in 2020” it is a pre-requisite to achieve the substantial reduction of costs and the improvement of device efficiencies.Recent developments in PV worldwide business are showing that other…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €929k toward a total project budget of €1.6M — a funding rate of 57%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 2 years from 2012-10-01 to 2014-09-30.
