PIRESTAR Lithuanian Presidency Conference: Invest in Researchers. Better training and careers using new funding opportunities

An EU presidency event will be organized with the objective to discuss the key factors impacting on the attractiveness of the researcher profession (with a special focus on young researchers) and how the measures proposed in the ERA framework can respond to these in the most effective way. The conference will be held on November 14 (the second half of the day) and November 15 (the first half of the day) at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in Vilnius.Up to 200 participants are expected. About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
EU contribution: €150k awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 0.8 years from 2013-05-01 to 2014-01-31.
