INVIVO TCELL IMAGING Twophoton microscopy analysis of phosphoinositide-3 kinase function during primary and secondary T cell activation in vivo
Coordinator: UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE MINAS GERAIS (BR)
The adaptive immune system protects us from nocuous microbes, yet excessive immune reactions can lead to the development of autoimmunity. The initiation of adaptive immune responses takes place in lymphoid organs, including peripheral lymph nodes (PLN). Inside PLN, T cells become activated through the molecular interactions of the T cell receptor with cognate peptide-MHC (pMHC) molecules and costimulatory molecules on dendritic cells (DC). TCR-mediated signals lead to the activation of the phosphoinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) pathway via the PI3K? isoform, which is required for full T cell activat…
About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
EU contribution: €15k awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 1 year from 2012-12-01 to 2013-11-30.
