At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2010, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 1.3% compared to 2009, reaching 15.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.5%.

Ireland ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 22.8% (from 19.7% in 2005).
