At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2018, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 7.1% compared to 2017, reaching 15.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Ireland ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.2% (from 18.2% in 2013).
