At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 4.5% compared to 2022, reaching 14.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.5%.

Ireland ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.0% (from 15.8% in 2018).
