At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 9.6% compared to 2022, reaching 29.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.5%.

Romania ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.5% (from 32.0% in 2018).
