In 2013, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 17.2% compared to 2012, reaching 10.6%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 13.3%.
Ireland ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 49.8% (from 21.1% in 2008).
