At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 8.5% compared to 2022, reaching 11.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 15.4%.

Ireland ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.6% (from 13.5% in 2018).
