At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2024, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 7.7% compared to 2023, reaching 23.7%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.3%.

Malta ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 15.0% (from 20.6% in 2019).
