At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2022, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.1% compared to 2021, reaching 17.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.4%.

Malta ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.9% (from 17.3% in 2017).
