At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 13.6% compared to 2020, reaching 18.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Portugal ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.2% (from 19.0% in 2016).
