At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2025, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.1% compared to 2024, reaching 17.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Portugal ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.9% (from 19.1% in 2020).
