At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2024, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 14.0% compared to 2023, reaching 17.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.3%.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.8% (from 18.5% in 2019).
