At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.3% compared to 2020, reaching 29.7%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Romania ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 20.2% (from 37.2% in 2016).
