In 2018, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 1.2% compared to 2017, reaching 24.5%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.5%.
Romania ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 7.0% (from 22.9% in 2013).
