In 2012, Slovakia's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 23.8% compared to 2011, reaching 7.8%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.2%.
Slovakia ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.2% (from 8.5% in 2007).
