Reducing the negative environmental impact of public transport and improving the quality of transport by purchasing new low-floor green buses
The project implemented by Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji Miejskiej Katowice Sp. z o.o. consists of the purchase of 40 new articulated buses – 18 metres and 60 new single buses – 12 meters. All buses purchased will meet the highest exhaust emission standards. 10 buses will be electric and the other diesel buses will meet the emission standard EURO 6. These vehicles will have a number of facilities aimed at improving the safety and comfort of public transport users (air conditioning, monitoring, facilities for disabled people, USB chargers, Wi-fi). About the Low-carbon economy objective
Thematic Objective 4 funds the low-carbon economy — renewable-energy capacity, energy efficiency in public buildings and housing, low-carbon urban mobility, smart grids and combined heat and power. It is the single largest climate strand of 2014–2020 Cohesion.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €19.0M toward a total project cost of €22.3M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
Kohesio is the European Commission's open-data platform for projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund Plus, the Cohesion Fund and the Just Transition Fund.
