The general objective of the project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the level of Drobeta Turnu Severin by promoting sustainable urban mobility and by implementing measures leading to the achievement of a modern public transport system, covering the requirements and needs of the inhabitants and ensuring the increase of the modal share of this mode of travel, the implementation of an intelligent traffic management and monitoring system based on innovative solutions for efficiency, including command center and rehabilitation of public transport taxiways, including cyclist tracks. About the Low-carbon economy objective
Thematic Objective 4 funds the low-carbon economy — renewable-energy capacity, energy efficiency in public buildings and housing, low-carbon urban mobility, smart grids and combined heat and power. It is the single largest climate strand of 2014–2020 Cohesion.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €13.6M toward a total project cost of €16.0M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
